AGE CONCERN WHAT WE DO: They work to promote the rights, wellbeing and quality of life of people over 65. They offer information on older people’s rights and have services such as a visiting service and information and advocacy in response to local needs.

Gender and Sexuality

OUTLINENZ WHAT WE DO: They can help find sources of trusted information, connection to community or peers, and medical or mental health services that welcome LGBTIQ+ people. Sexual Abuse

Information for parents on where you can get help supporting your kids, or resources you can show your kids for them to use if they feel like they need to.

Mental Health

NEED TO TALK? WHAT WE DO: We’re here. Free call or text 1737 any time, 24 hours a day. You’ll get to talk to (or text with) a trained counsellor. Our service is completely free.

Youth Specific

KIDSLINE WHAT WE DO: New Zealand’s 24/7 helpline for children and teens, run by specially trained youth volunteers who can listen and offer support if someone under 14 is feeling down or needs to talk. www.kidsline.org.nz

Just for Men

MENZ ISSUES WHAT WE DO: It has information and a list of support groups for men who are either victims of family violence or perpetrators. www.menz.org.nz/support

Just for Women

WOMEN’S REFUGE WHAT WE DO: Every refuge provides 24-hours-a-day support, information and safe accommodation for women and their children who have been victims of abuse.

Family Violence

GAMBLING HELPLINE WHAT WE DO: Talk to a telephone counsellor for free at any time. Gambling Helpline also offers four 24/7 specialist services; Maori – 0800 654 656, Pasifika – 0800 654 657, Youth – 0800 654 659, and a Debt Gambling Helpline – 0800 654 658.
